Our Founder

Since 1995, Creative Metalworks has been designing and building static and kinetic sculptures primarily used for bicycle parking. Creative Metalworks founder Merrill Denney is the originator of creative bike racks in the United States. A cyclist himself, Merrill’s interest in bike racks was borne from his personal experience and disappointment in commercially available racks. With a number of design patents to his credit, Merrill also has designed and built mixed-medium interior furnishings and landscape art in addition to his work on creative bike racks.

Our Equipment

At Creative Metalworks, we use state-of-the-art equipment to ensure the highest quality, best prices, and quickest turnaround times in the industry. We have a vast tooling selection that allows us to work with a variety of material configurations and tackle complex or unusual projects.

For pipe forming, Creative Metalworks uses hydraulic, internal mandrel-bending equipment that minimizes pipe distortion while maintaining structural integrity. Our multi-axis CO2/nitrogen laser-cutting machines have an impressive capacity for materials up to 1" thick, with tolerances accurate to .005 of an inch.

Our Materials & Finishes

Whatever your design, we can reproduce it in ferrous or non-ferrous materials, including low/high carbon steel, stainless, aluminum, brass, and others. We feature both galvanized and powder-coat finishes. Onsite sandblasting prior to powder coating removes any impurities and allows immediate coating to eliminate risk of contamination between processes.

We feature a comprehensive selection of colors and can custom match colors for your project. Powder coating is far more durable that regular paint, and it’s much better for the environment. We also provide a proprietary process that allows us to powder coat over galvanized materials for extra protection.
